The Boot Camp sessions are broken down weekly into one cardio focused (running, sprits, etc), one strength focused (mostly body weight excises, push ups, crunches, etc) and the last one being adventure (fun team work excises that are a mix of cardio and strength).

This Boot Camp had about 50 people (with three instructors), although we seemed to lose 5-10 people over the course of five weeks. Among this group were a large range of fitness levels, but with the way the program is structured, everyone was able to improve on their fitness.

Overall it has been a fun way to get fitter, the team side of things adds to it, and have seen a good fitness improvement.

At the start and finish of Boot Camp, NZ Army based fitness tests are completed to track how everyone improved. This consisted on max push ups (narrow style, nearly a tricep push up, which makes it harder), max crunches (stopped if reach 130) and a 2.4 timed run. We just had the finish test, so now have my before and after results.

Personally had been aiming for a run time of under 10min, so that’ll be the aim for next time.
