Professional ProfileScott Walsh has over eleven years experience in the IT Industry working across the full IT spectrum, recently this has been across the sales lifecycle and has previously included an emphasis in service and network management. Initial involvement in IT was in application training, systems administration, and a variety of service support roles around PC’s, servers and networks. More recently, he has been seconded into the IBM Services Sales team as an Account Manager from his current role in the Solution Architecture team focused on pre-sales architecture and consultancy.
Scott has various strengths outside his experience within the spectrum of the IT industry. He is described as a “crisis manager” due to his ability to take a crisis, run with it, and find the resources and tools needed to solve it. Whilst Scott has commercial experience in various areas of technology developed through experience with the sales life cycle and contract negotiation, his forte is in finding solutions to meet a customer’s needs. Outcome focused, Scott utilises his knowledge of technology and builds an understanding of the required customer outcomes to give what is needed to meet and exceed these outcomes. He is familiar with quality systems such as ITIL and more recently gained knowledge in project methodologies, and has used some of these principles in supporting the development of processes within a service focused organization. Outside of Work, Scott has a keen interest in travel and over the last several years had spent his leave in much of SE Asia along with parts of China, Mongolia, Russia, and Mexico. Since Scott’s last visit to China, he has recently begun learning Chinese Mandarin. Throughout the year, Scott maintains an active lifestyle with regular gym attendance. He has a strong interest in technology and developing an interest in fine wine and food.
